چکیده
A novel antifungal antibiotic, chryscandin was found in the culture broth of a strain of fungi. The producing organism was subsequently identified as Chrysosporium pannorum. The antibiotic obtained as colorless needle crystals (C20H23N7O6, MW 457) is active against Candida albicans and Gram-positive bacteria, but it is ineffective against filamentous fungi and Gram-negative bacteria. Acute toxicity is very low in mice.

Capuramycin, a new nucleoside antibiotic. Taxonomy, fermentation, isolation and characterization.
A new antibiotic capuramycin was isolated from the culture filtrate of Streptomyces griseus 446-S3 by adsorption and partition column chromatography. Based on its chemical structure being an uracil nucleoside with a caprolactam substituent, this substance was named as capuramycin. This paper describes the taxonomy of a producing organism, fermentation, isolation, characterization and biological...
متن کاملChryscandin, a novel peptidyl nucleoside antibiotic. II. Structure determination and synthesis.
The structure of chryscandin, a novel antifungal antibiotic, produced by Chrysosporium pannorum No. 4629 was deduced to be 1 from spectroscopic and chemical evidences. In order to confirm the structure and to determine the absolute configuration, the total synthesis of chryscandin was performed. D-Xylose was transformed into 10 in ten steps. After beta-glycosidation of silylated benzoyl adenine...
متن کاملAntibiotic SB22484: a novel complex of the aurodox group. I. Taxonomy of the producing organism, isolation of the antibiotics and chemical and biological characterization.
Antibiotic SB22484 is a novel member of the aurodox type antibiotic group produced in submerged-fermentation cultures of Streptomyces sp. NRRL 15496. The antibiotic complex is composed of two pairs of isomers with MW's of 752 and 766. The individual isomers, which were separated by preparative HPLC, equilibrate to a mixture of the isomer pair when left in aqueous solution. In vitro, SB22484 ant...
متن کاملLydicamycin, a new antibiotic of a novel skeletal type. I. Taxonomy, fermentation, isolation and biological activity.
A novel antibiotic, designated lydicamycin, was isolated from the fermentation broth of an actinomycete strain identified as Streptomyces lydicus. Lydicamycin was active against Gram-positive bacteria and a certain yeast, but inactive against Gram-negative bacteria.
متن کاملSporeamicin A, a new macrolide antibiotic. I. Taxonomy, fermentation, isolation and characterization.
Sporeamicin A, a novel antibiotic, was isolated from the culture filtrate of an actinomycete. The producing organism, strain L53-18, was taxonomically assigned as a species of the genus Saccaropolyspora. The antibiotic was extracted with chloroform and was then purified by crystallization. It was obtained as colorless prisms from ethanolic solutions. Sporeamicin A exhibited a strong UV absorpti...
